Reason with confidence in the age of AI.

Cortessian gives senior leaders the understanding and judgement to set direction on AI and make informed decisions for themselves.

Senior leaders are being asked to make decisions about AI faster than they can form a view on it.

Learn how to keep pace with AI, challenge the claims being made about it, and judge whether a proposed use of AI makes commercial and operational sense.

One six-hour, or two three-hour, workshops.

01 / WHO IS THIS FOR?

Board members and senior executives.

Cortessian gives senior leaders the understanding and judgement to set direction on AI and make informed decisions for themselves.

This is for you if AI initiatives are consuming money without delivering the expected results, or the pace of change is making it difficult to judge what deserves attention.

You’re being asked to approve AI investment, challenge a vendor, respond to the board or decide what your organisation should do next.

WHAT YOU WANT INSTEAD

Control under speed.

The ability to make sound decisions even as AI changes around you.

02 / THE WORKSHOP

The workshop.

Six interactive hours examining how AI develops and is adopted, which developments deserve executive attention, and how to assess claims when the technology is changing quickly.

The workshop uses familiar executive decisions to build practical understanding of AI.

The workshop combines short presentations with simulations and participant-led discussion, with time for Q&A.

Understand AI in terms senior leaders already use: investment, risk, governance, opportunity cost and expected return.

03 / THE CHEATSHEET

The cheatsheet.

A practical reference containing the questions covered in the workshop, what each question is designed to uncover, and what a credible answer should contain.

Use it when reviewing AI proposals to test whether the person answering understands the underlying technology, assumptions and trade-offs.

04 / WHO’S BEHIND IT?
Toby Corballis
Toby CorballisFounder of Cortessian

Judgement is what senior leaders provide.

I've worked with AI for more than three years, including researching AI adoption and testing commercial and open-source models.

I've worked in change and transformation for over twenty-five years and with executive leadership teams for more than twenty. New technologies create competing claims from vendors, technologists, consultants and commentators. Leaders still have to decide where to invest.

AI may be moving quickly, but many of the decisions it creates for leaders are familiar: when to invest, what claims to trust, what risks to accept and what evidence to demand.

I created this workshop to give senior leaders enough understanding of AI to challenge proposals, test assumptions and make their own decisions about where it belongs in the organisation.

07 / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Who should attend?

The workshop is specifically aimed at board members and C-Suite.

Why do you focus on executive leadership?

Toby has spent more than twenty years working with executive leadership teams. The workshop therefore focuses on the decisions leaders actually have to make: where to invest, what evidence to demand and how to know whether an initiative is delivering value.

Do you run workshops or courses for non-execs?

Yes. The standard workshop is designed for board and C-suite audiences, but we can adapt it for other senior leadership groups by request.

Is the workshop hands-on?

The Workshop is interactive, but it isn't training in how to use AI tools. Its purpose is to build the understanding and judgement to assess AI proposals, agents and workflows being presented by suppliers or internal teams. If you want practical experience using chat-based AI in your own work, that's covered by our Executive AI Training.

Can we cancel at any time?

Yes - no cancellation fee if cancelled with more than five working days notice; 50% refunded if cancelled with less than 5 working days but more than 2 working days; no refund if cancelled within 2 working days.

Are there any pre-requisites?

No technical background is required. We assume business experience and curiosity, and explain the AI concepts you need during the workshop.

Do you offer support after the workshop?

Yes. Where a decision needs further support, AI Advisory can continue with a specific question, provide ongoing advice as new questions arise, or help turn a decision into action.
